FAQs for Natural Sunscreen
IS SPF40 HIGH SUN PROTECTION?
Yes!
A sunscreen rated SPF 40 is certified to block out 97.5% of the harmful UVB radiation that causes sun burn and can lead to malignant melanomas.
SPF50 only blocks 0.5% more UVB rays.
Why are mineral sunscreens safer than chemical?
For one thing, they work instantly!
For another, if they are true mineral filter only sunscreens, they can be free from potentially damaging (hormone altering) Sun filtering chemicals.
Is your sunscreen safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. Like all our products it was created to be gentle on sensitive skin and provide the soothing goodness of Kawakawa. Natural Sun Defence SPF40 has been dermatologically tested as safe for sensitive skin.
Its always a good idea to patch test for peace of mind.
Is this sunscreen safe for my baby?
Absolutely - our sunscreen is gentle and designed for sensitive skin.
We always recommend a patch test for peace of mind, just in case your child has a special sensitivity.
Will this leave a greasy layer and a thick white cast?
Natural Sun Defence SPF40 is a moisturising sunscreen. It has been designed to be a light
formula that offers high sun protection with minimal whitening and dries to a matte finish.
Note, we don't say 'invisible finish' as it is impossible to have a completely invisible physical barrier (without using any chemcial sun filters or nano size mineral sun filters), however, we believe Natural Sun Defence SPF40 rubs in more fully than any other all-natural/nature derived sunscreen on that market that offers high protection - that is above SPF30 - while also being marine friendly and free from horomone disrupting chemical sun filters.
Is it water resistant?
It’s important to remember to apply sunscreen before and after swimming, exercise and heavy perspiration and always every 2 hours, no matter the SPF rating or water resistance claim.
Being a water-free oil based balm, Natural Sun Defence naturally sits on the skin even after time in water.
We’ve had Natural Sun Defence SPF40 water resistance tested in Italy, but new regulations mean we’re unable to use the water resistance claim as a different testing methodology was used.
Can I recycle the packaging?
Yes! The tin can be infinitely recycled.
The box is printed with vege-based inks and can be kerbside recycled or torn up and put into the compost.
