Dry & irritated Skin Relief

We recommend the use of Kawakawa Balm on any dry or irritated patches of skin your baby may develop as their skin adjusts to the outside world.

Prevention & Protection

Because Kawakawa Balm contains lots of nourishing oils and butters as well as antioxidants and skin strengthening, polyphenol-rich, free radical scavenging lignins, it both enhances the natural skin barrier AND adds a layer of extra barrier on top of the skin. It's a dual action barrier cream!

Kawakawa Nappy Balm

Yes, our Kawakawa Balm is ideal for use as a nappy balm. It contains a blend of ingredients designed to soothe any irritation caused by a wet nappy rubbing and also (see above) creates a beautiful nourishing skin barrier to protect your baby's delicate bottom and legs.

"This is a magic everything cream I have been using this on my daughter’s eczema. It completely cleared it and she’s so happy to use it. It’s been great on my sons cradle cap too." - Rachel

"LIFESAVER! I've been using Frankie for 2 years now. My baby has eczema and the only thing that soothes and clears it up almost overnight, is the repair balm! The oil has done wonders on his cradle cap and the oats helps boost the effectiveness of those products! He's all clear now! LOVE." - Ellen

"We are loving the Kawakawa Balm. It has been helping my little baby with his eczema and his cradle cap. His skin texture on his tummy has gone away. His forehead has been getting so much better from his eczema it's getting another and less flaky. His underarms is doing better not as red and his crease in his legs is also doing better. He doesn't get mad when I put it on him. When I was using lotion he would scream at the top of his lungs." - Alexis

After bath skin care

We love the combination of Kawakawa Body Oil for an all-over baby massage, with the application of Kawakawa Balm to the nappy area as a nappy balm - and anywhere else your baby may have dry skin, rashes or chafing. Check behind the knees and under the arms and if you find any problem areas apply Kawakawa Balm over the Body Oil.

Intensive Moisturising

As well as creating a fantastic skin barrier and shoring up the skin's natural barrier, Kawakawa Balm traps good moisture in the skin, keeping it healthy and hydrated - as well as providing cell rejuvenating antioxidants and moisturising plant butters and oils. A lot of our customers use it on their face as an intensive night moisturiser and those same skin-enhancing properties help ensure your baby's skin stays lush, soft and hydrated.

"I've been purchasing Frankie for the past few years... the kawakawa balm, oil and soap. I sent it as gifts to my hubby's family in the UK and they love it. It resolved his nephew's eczema flare ups to their amazement! I recently had a baby. My hubby has eczema so I knew we'd only be using Frankie skin care on him. We use the soap and after each bath or shower we massage him head to toe in kawakawa oil. Everyone comments on how clear his skin is for a baby... It has to be his skincare! I also use the balm on my face regularly and I get compliments on how good my skin is for 40. Again, we keep it simple and natural. Can't recommend kawakawa highly enough for everything from proactive to cure." - Danni

Cradle Cap

Cradle cap is so common in young babies and it can become a real issue. If you see the beginnings of cradle cap, don't wait for it to get worse! Moisten the area with a very soft cloth and clean water - you may wish to boil the water first but let it cool well before using. Next, use a freshly washed and dried cloth to pat it dry gently, and then apply a generous layer of Kawakawa Balm. You should find that the crusty areas soften and are easier to gently wipe away, and the antiseptic, antifungal and antibacterial qualities of Kawakawa will play their part in minimising the damage and preventing the area from spreading.

"This Kawakawa Balm has been amazing on our baby’s skin. It completely fixed her cradle cap too! Cannot recommend enough!" - Camille

"I use this on my baby’s dermatitis caused by cradle cap and it’s the only thing that keeps it moisturised and cleared. Love the kawakawa balm." - Leighana

Dribble rash

Dribble rash is common in babies who are prone to colic, or when they are teething, and can cause stinging raw areas around their mouth, chin, and even in the folds of their neck.

Dab the area dry gently with a very clean cloth and apply the Kawakawa Balm six times a day to keep that skin barrier in place and limit the moisture damage. Teething babies can also get rashes on their cheeks which may need the same care.

"Our newest pēpi loves the kawakawa balm for both her teething and nappy rashes." - Shirley

A baby-associated use

Nipple Balm! Because Kawakawa Balm is non toxic, it's a great option for a skin-saver for chapped nipples. The key is to keep nipples free of dampness and bacteria, so avoid synthetic nipple pads. Air dry if you can, then apply Kawakawa Balm and use woollen nursing pads as these wick away wetness, or wear a loose cotton shirt. If issues persist do get help to ensure your baby is latching well.
